Kinsford Water are the head waters of Sherdon Water, one of the main tributaries of the River Barle.. The source of Kinsford Water is on Comerslade just above Kinsford gate. From the source it flows for a distance of 6 kilometres in a generally south easterly direction flowing below Hangley Cleave to reach Long Holcombe where waters join to form Sherdon Water. The elevation fall from source to Long Holcombe is close to 120 metres. The waters of Sherdon Water continue on for another 4 kilometres to reach the River Barle.
